Unity in Action: Englewood Shines at the 19th Community Expo featuring the 35th Annual Music & Arts Explosion

On a vibrant summer day, Saturday, August 16, 2025, in the heart of Englewood, Monarch Awards Foundation, Inc. proudly partnered with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® – Xi Nu Omega Chapter to support the 19th Annual Community Expo featuring the 35th Annual Music & Arts Explosion—a dynamic back-to-school celebration rooted in service, joy, and unity.

Hosted by The Montessori School of Englewood, this free community event welcomed families from across the city to enjoy:

• Free school supplies to prepare students for success

• Free haircuts and braiding to boost confidence and care

• Health screenings to promote wellness and early detection

• Games, entertainment, and live performances to uplift and inspire

From resource tables to art showcases, the day was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when schools, nonprofits, healthcare providers, artists, small businesses, and community leaders come together with purpose.
