Presence Is Powerful. Advocacy Makes It Count.

On May 5 - 6, members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® -Xi Nu Omega Chapter Connection and Social Action Committee joined Sisters in Springfield for Illinois AKA Day at the Capitol, where Alpha Kappa Alpha members participated alongside Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated in advancing community priorities. Our Sisters took part in advocacy, civic education and service while engaging issues including Black maternal health and proposed limits on no-knock warrants. Illinois lawmakers were actively considering both areas during the 2026 legislative session.
